What I loved the most about this chapter were the little moments Brian had with each one of his "family". The eye contact with Emmett, the leaning in into Debbie's hand, Ben's pat on his shoulder, Vic squeezing Brian's hand en passant. And most of all: Gus. *sighs*
And Mel and Brian sharing a secret? Now THAT's intriguing.
The end of this chapter will stay with me for a while. A hauntingly beautiful scene in the middle of something that feels so entirely wrong.
