Nostalgia FTW!

I'm pretty exhausted, you guys, lol. AND not done yet, lol.

Anyway -

So [livejournal.com profile] wouldbedorothy and I were having one of our nightly chats while watching the awesome The Muppets: Bohemian Rhapsody. Got totally nostalgic.

Which got me to thinking about the fact that Sesame Street (which I seriously think should be required viewing for all children) turned 40 years old this year. ROCK ON PBS AND SESAME STREET WORKSHOP!

That lead to a search on YT for Classic skits and that brought me here.

For the next thirty days, I will be posting a total of 40 of my favorite Sesame Street sketches to laugh about and remember. I just thought it would be a fun thing to do, lol.

And I hope you guys enjoy it, too.

We're going to start off with a total iconic classic.

I still know all the words to that song. That's nutty.

i grew up with CBS in black and white only some months of the year when the signal was good until I was about 10, and then only CBS until, uhhh, i was in college. there was no cable in my town until then, so yeah, never experienced that.

Oh wow. I'm just curious where you grew up. I used to spend the summer's in my hometown in PR - little mountain town named Yauco where there was no television (I'm so glad I've always been a reader LOL) but that's like child's play comparatively speaking, lol.

grew up in western massachusetts, so, uhh, yeah. we just weren't a rich town. we have no street lights anymore because a vote came down to the town library or street lights, and the town, thank god, voted for the library.
